Thank
you for inquiring about our herd and thank you to those who have
purchased from us in the past.
Autumn Acres Dairy
Goats is located in southwestern Michigan between Grand Rapids and
Kalamazoo. We have been raising dairy goats for over twenty
five years and strive to produce healthy, hard working animals that
will compete well in the show ring and have long, productive lives.
For anyone interested in purchasing an animal, all kids are raised
on the CAE prevention program of heat-treated colostrum and
pasteurized milk, and we feed free choice high quality alfalfa/grass
mixed hay and a 17% grain ration. The herd maintains a TB-free certified and accredited status and has a good vaccination program.
All animals are vaccinated with Covexin 8 (overeating, etc.), BoSe,
and Lysigin to help prevent Staph mastitis and are wormed routinely.
2007 was another exciting year for the herd. We started this
year with all but two of our show string being yearlings and two
year olds. We are proud to say they held to the test and we
finished the season with four of them finishing their championship,
and with several others obtaining legs. We weren't able to
attend the National Show this year, but look forward to going to
Kentucky next summer. We feel our does had a great season
going Best in Show twelve times this summer!
We try to attend several competitive shows a year throughout
Michigan, Indiana and Ohio without over extending our girls .
We
also linear appraise almost every year. Because of our work
schedule and other family commitments, our herd must be kept at a
manageable number. We have a nice selection of milkers and
kids to sell each year and offer only a limited number of bucks. We are not
a breeder that will sell a buck out of just anything. Buck
sales are very select and only made after each kid is evaluated at
birth. Prices on our animals range from $250 - $1,000
depending on who and what you are interested in. On a few
occasions, mature bucks and finished does are also available at
various prices. Please contact us if you would like more
information on a particular animal or line, and we will be happy to
answer any questions you may have.
I would like to thank my family for their support throughout the
year; my Mom for her extra help during kidding season, and my son, Tyler, for his extra help in the barn. A
special thanks to Nicole for her talent of showing the does to their
best!
Sincerely,
Your Friends at Autumn Acres
